[Note: This was the first night of photography using the new Meade 12" LX200 f/10. The telescope was equiped with the JMI NGF-S focuser with electric motor and digital readout. There was a nearly-full moon in the sky all night long, and I fought the dew continually, having to blow-dry the corrector at least a dozen times, especially after midnight.]

NGC891, a spiral galaxy in Andromeda, magnitude 9.9, dimensions 14' x 3'. Images were taken using the f/6.3 focal reducer, for an effective f/ratio of f/6.3, and the Homeyer color filter wheel was in place. This is a composite made from 25 images for a total integration time of 26 minutes. Images were first processed using AstroArt for dark frame removal and flat frames, then aligned and averaged. AstroArt was used for a Maximum Entropy Deconvolution step, then the image was transferred to MaxIm, and processed with Digital Development (Kernel, low-pass), and a contrast stretch. Images were taken between 10:53 and 11:42 p.m., the evening of October 11th, 2000.
