NGC3596, a spiral galaxy in Leo, magnitude 12, diameter 4'.2. This image is a composite created from 18 images for a total integration time of 37 minutes. All images were corrected with dark frames and flats, then compositing, flatten background, unsharp mask (FFT, low-pass, medium), kernel filter (median) and finally a contrast stretch. Images were taken between 09:17 p.m. and 10:02 p.m. the evening of the 17th. All were taken using the f/6.3 focal reducer, for an effective f/ratio of f/4.

NGC4490, a galaxy in Canes Venatici, magnitude 9.8, diameter 5'.9. This image is a composite created from 15 images for a total integration time of 30 minutes. All images were corrected with dark frames and flats, then compositing, unsharp mask (FFT, low-pass, hard), and finally a contrast stretch. Images were taken between 10:50 p.m. and 11:21 p.m. the evening of the 17th. All were taken using the f/6.3 focal reducer, for an effective f/ratio of f/4. These exposures were cut short when clouds moved in over the Tinton Falls area.
